What happens during an Inspection?

The inspections are in accordance with Australian Standards and will look at the following areas:Painted high-rise building with a garage

  • We check the building exterior, building interior, roof exterior, roof interior, subfloor areas, site, fences and landscaping, garages and outbuildings.
  • Look for any structural problems, installation defects, damage or deterioration, water penetration, operational defects, incomplete items and poor workmanship.
  • Check bathrooms, kitchens and laundries, turn on taps, test showers for leaks, check toilets and general plumbing issues.
  • Open and close windows and doors, check built-ins and joinery, check stairs and handrails.
  • External structures such as decks, balconies, pergolas & retaining walls.
  • We make general comment on building services such as plumbing, electrical, gas, water, hot water units, air conditioning & drainage.
  • We look at site drainage considerations. This can be a significant hidden cost.
  • During the Pest Inspection we will check for Termites, any structural damage or past termite activity, wood borers, wood decay fungi, termite treatments, termite protection systems and conditions conducive to termite attack.
  • The reports are individually written up by the inspector and emailed to the client first thing the following morning by the office.
  • Same day reports or a call direct from the inspector can be arranged.
